Musa Di Mare // Inspired by the Sea

Bottishelli is a fun twist on our last name, Botticelli, combined with “shell” - reflecting two things we love: art and the ocean.

Our brand draws inspiration from the iconic Italian Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli and his masterpiece The Birth of Venus, where Venus - the Greek goddess of beauty is born in the sea and arrives on land carried by a giant seashell. That magical image of her emergence is our inspiration for creating one-of-a-kind, unique jewelry pieces made from our world’s treasures.

Each Bottishelli piece is designed and handcrafted by us, with shells we find along the coast. Creating art and collecting shells are two of my greatest passions, and bringing them together to build something special is incredibly fulfilling.

Each piece is priced thoughtfully based on the rarity and uniqueness of the shells I use. Some shells are more elusive and take time (and a bit of luck) to find—so pieces made with those harder-to-come-by treasures may be priced a bit higher.

Each piece of jewelry is thoughtfully designed using carefully selected metals and hardware that I personally tested over several weeks for durability, wearability, and resistance to tarnish. I use tarnish-resistant components to ensure your jewelry maintains its shine and quality over time with proper care.

What makes my jewelry truly unique is the use of natural shells that I hand-collect locally. These organic elements give each piece its own story and character—but also require a bit of extra love. Shells are delicate by nature, so while I add a light layer of clear sealant around the drilled holes to reinforce their structure and enhance durability, they should still be handled gently to avoid cracking or damage.

Think of them like tiny seaside treasures—beautiful, one-of-a-kind, and happiest when treated with a little extra care.
